2020: a year to remember

This year, the importance of protection has been put at the forefront of many people’s minds and despite some challenges, now is the time, more than ever, to be proud of the work we’ve done together to protect clients and their families.

The impacts of Covid have been far reaching and a sharp reminder of the crucial role that we, as insurers and advisers, provide to protect customers and their families during these times. Enhancements like our Aviva DigiCare+ development ensure that together we can provide an even stronger proposition to underline the importance of protection. On behalf of Aviva, thank you for your continued support and best wishes for a healthy 2021

Daren Boys - Protection Distribution Director

As the year wraps up, we want to take this opportunity to say thank you, the resilience that we have seen from advisers this year has been incredible.  This year you have managed to help protect thousands of families from financial uncertainty whether it be from your office, shed or kitchen. And as things wind down we hope you can take some time to relax, enjoy loved ones and reflect on your achievements this year.

At Aviva, we have also taken the time to reflect on 2020 and our team wanted to share with you some of the things that they are particularly proud of:

More than 9 out of 10 customers are currently being offered terms despite the global pandemic and the non medical limits changes we’re imminently implementing but also looking to apply to suitable pipeline candidates. These help speed the on-boarding of our customers, provide greater flexibility and service

Sabrina Lane – Expert Underwriting and Underwriting Relationship Manager

I’m proud of the way our people have responded to the global pandemic, and the shifting needs of our customers and advisers in the way they interact with us. Throughout, we’ve worked hard to deliver a reassuringly strong level of service and to focus on the things that matter most to our customers, including initiatives such as our premium deferral scheme.

Rachel Green – Head of Protection Operations

I'm proud of our efforts to simplify CI for customers and the sales process for advisers. This came from a genuine place of wanting people to understand at a glance what they are covered for. I also am happy that we were able to launch Simple Life Insurance; providing more opportunity for customers to get the life cover they need at a more affordable price

Rebecca Lowe - Proposition Development Manager

I have been proud at how we worked to quickly develop a 14 week programme of CPD webinars during lockdown to help support advisers. This coupled with making our material as user friendly as possible for advisers to use with their customers and the strategic development and re-launch of our new Adviser Website, to help with easy navigation and so advisers can get to what they want first time

Gemma Howley - National Account Development Manager

At a time when health and wellbeing are at the forefront of people's minds, we've launched our most comprehensive offering to date - Aviva DigiCare+. Financial protection is our business, but true protection starts with prevention and that's why we're very proud to be empowering customers to take control of their health with access to expert clinical support.

Anna Barrett - Head of Strategy and Future Propositions

We’ve been there for customers who have been affected by COVID, paying out around £36.7m to individual protection customers up to the end of September. We’ve also set up our COVID rehab service to support income protection customers who have experienced complications as a result of COVID

Jacqueline Kerwood - Claims Philosophy Manager

Thank you again and we hope that you enjoy the festive period.
