On Monday 30th September 2019, we held our first-ever Mock Trial in association with BLM and 12KBW. It was great to see so many of our clients and brokers, along with yourselves, at this event which gave an excellent insight into the court room process.
We took an example of a “slip, trip, fall” claim and processed it in court through a trial scenario with a Judge, Barristers, Witnesses and a Court Usher. Referring to Bundle Papers that held all evidence, records and witness statement details – we were able to follow the claim being tried and defended to showcase the role of evidence in court. This event highlighted the importance of record keeping, training records and more, before a claim could occur and be sent to trial. This is applicable for many brokers and clients who manage risk to understand their role within a claim.
