Aviva’s Norwich to London 200km Cycle

Next month, a team of 25 cyclists from Aviva along with broker partners from Plester Group, AJG, GRP, Guy Carpenter, Marsh, Marsh Commercial and Ravantage are taking on a 200km cycle challenge from Aviva’s historic Norwich office, to Aviva HQ in London, in support of Insurance United Against Dementia (IUAD).

September is World Alzheimer's Month and the team aim to raise £20k to go towards funding the vital research carried out by the Alzheimer’s Society in developing treatments for this disease.

“Alzheimer’s Society and the fight against dementia is a cause really close to my heart after losing my grandfather after a long struggle with the disease and my grandmother currently suffering with dementia. I’ve also had experience of witnessing early onset dementia with some former colleagues and competitors during my time as a professional rugby player, some being affected even before turning 40. The impact on the lives of not just the individuals suffering with the disease but also the family and friends is beyond comprehension. Everyone has been impacted by this disease in some way and have their own stories of dementia, so being able to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society is hugely important. Every contribution really does count, and we appreciate any support that people can give. Your generous donations will fuel the charity’s mission to create a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.” - Sam Twomey, Broker Development Manager.

Insurance United Against Dementia is an industry movement which aims to raise £10m to end the devastation caused by dementia. IUAD is also committed to driving awareness across the industry of the support available to staff and customers affected by the disease.
