New London Fire Brigade policy on automatic fire alarms
 

To reduce the amount of time and resources deployed attending false fire alarm activations, from 1 October 2024 the London Fire Brigade will stop attending automatic fire alarm/detection system call-outs to commercial business and workplace premises during daytime hours, unless a fire has been confirmed via a 999 call. We’ve received further intel alerts notifying us of crime activity impacting critical infrastructure across the country over the past month, and one of the hot spots remains the eastern side of the UK. Here, there has been a continuing increase in all types of infrastructure crime including cable theft, fuel theft and theft of tools and plant. The Improving Work Life Balance for Homeworkers course offers guidance on successful homeworking, providing practical tips and strategies for setting up an efficient home office, promoting productivity, managing time effectively and supporting mental well-being in a remote work environment.

The Managing Contractors course is designed to deliver the fundamentals of employing and engaging with contractors safely, covering all aspects from the onboarding and pre-authorisation, through to managing a contractor on site, including overseeing high-risk activities. With a module structure, topic matter is broken down into small sections making it easy to access and absorb at your own pace.
