Use these three steps to boost your Google ranking

Optimising your website for search engines, widely known as ‘SEO’ (Search Engine Optimisation), can be a full-time job, with some businesses even employing specialist SEO agencies. However, there are some simple steps you can take to start your own journey into boosting your SEO, to help your website make its way up the Google search engine results pages (SERPs).

We’ve got three steps to get you started:

  1. Make your website content as useful as possible to your target audience.

Including pertinent keywords and phrases on your website helps site crawlers to index its relevancy, which further encourages Google to boost your SERPs ranking.

Make it fully accessible. As well as being optimised for mobiles, tablets and PCs, your website should also be accessible to all. Use our handy website accessibility checklist to help you on your way with this.

  2. Publish with authority.

Google reviews are still probably the easiest way of demonstrating to search engines that your site (and your business) is a source of credibility and expertise. Have your clients had a great experience? Then quickly follow that up by asking them to give you a review – there's a handy template on Broker Create to help you here – and don’t forget to respond with a thank you for doing so!

  3. Building authority can also be done by acquiring high-quality backlinks to your website.

Sponsor a good sports team? Work with a great charity partner? If they’ve got a credible website, then ask them to add a link to your website. Having inbound links from credible, trusted websites is another great way to boost your SERP ranking.

Ultimately, there's no instant way to increase your search engine optimisation (SEO) - but making sure your website is accessible, has authority and contains relevant information that answers the insurance-related questions searched for by your target audience, is a great start.
