What year of construction do I use if part of the property has been rebuilt?

For Personal Lines policies, please record the year of build/construction as the year that the original foundations of the property were constructed. If any extensions and/or alterations have been made, we can’t accept the updated year of build unless the whole property has been knocked down including the foundations.

For Commercial policies, this is based on the predominantly built proportion year of build, relevant to floor space. Where this is equal, the oldest date should be used.
