Do you offer cover for lodgers or paying guests
Cover can be provided where the policyholder offers bed and breakfast provided the accommodation is for no more than 6 paying guests/lodgers (including live-in domestic staff).
This will cover some short-term letting hosts such as Airbnb if a room or part of their permanent home is rented to paying guests.
Short-period, self-catering holiday letting are also acceptable subject to the following:
- Accommodation must be within the boundaries of the Insured’s home, which must also be your customer's main residence such as in a self-contained flat, annexe, lodge(s) or in a separate building within the property's boundaries
- Accommodation for no more than 6 people
- Holiday use only
Exclusions
- The policy wording automatically excludes theft, malicious damage and accidental damage (if selected) by paying guests or tenants (which would include lodgers) and there's a General Exclusion of loss or damage deliberately caused by anyone lawfully in the home.
- The policy wording automatically excludes liability in connection with any trade, business or profession.
