Making the most of LinkedIn’s business development capabilities

Did you know that LinkedIn’s lead conversion rates are 3 times higher than other major ad platforms?1

Interacting with your clients via social media may not come naturally, but there are some real benefits to dedicating a little time each week to networking online. It could help you achieve, or even exceed, your sales targets for the year. And remember, if you aren’t connecting with your clients in this space, the chances are that your competitors will be.

Here’s an introductory guide on where to start.

1. Optimise your LinkedIn profile

Clients and prospects are likely to check your LinkedIn profile, so make sure it’s fully optimised. Even just adding your photo is a great start!

2. Review your company’s LinkedIn profile

Make sure your company account is kept up to date with relevant industry information. This helps to showcase your credibility and expertise in the market to new and existing clients.

Prominently feature your core message to reinforce to visitors the value of using your business services.

3. Rally your colleagues

Sharing information through a personal LinkedIn profile drives 2.75x more impressions and 5x more engagement when compared to a company profile.2

Encourage your team to participate on LinkedIn and develop their own network. A simple re-share of a company social media post by an employee’s personal account, can further extend the reach of the original message – think of it as a ripple effect.

4. Promote your account

You’ve put in the groundwork, now make sure your accounts are seen! Decide where to link to them. This could be from your website, your personal email signature, as well as within any company blogs or newsletters.
