Introducing Aviva Shop and Salon cover

There's a wide range of shop and salons in the UK, from Florists to Hairdressers and Coffee Shops to Grocers. We can offer cover for individual and multi-location shop and salon businesses as well as online-only retailers who have storage units with no customer access.

Why do clients need Shop and Salon cover?

Our product is designed for small to medium-sized shops and salons who all have different needs and requirements from their insurance. A shop selling clothes isn't the same as an online-only computer parts business, whilst a beauty salon will be different again. Our Shop and Salon cover is here to help support your clients needs.

Many clients need certain covers to help protect their business such as:

  • Employers' Liability
  • Legal Expenses
  • Products Liability
  • Public Liability

Why choose Aviva's Shop and Salon cover?

We understand how insurance needs can change from one business to the next, which is why we’ve designed our Shop and Salon cover so that your clients can pick the cover options that work for them.

What's covered as standard?

  • Employers' Liability - required by law if the business has any paid or unpaid employees this provides cover if anything happens to their employees as a result of the work they do
  • Legal Expenses - whether it’s debt recovery, an unexpected employment dispute, damage to property or client contract issues, this cover can provide reassurance if your client faces misunderstandings and disagreements that result in legal action
  • Products Liability - if your client sells items, product liability insurance covers your client's business if one of their customers or member of the public becomes ill or suffers an injury because of a product they've supplied
  • Public Liability - supports your client with legal fees and compensation pay-outs if your client is accused of causing injury or property damage
  • Property Damage - provides cover in the event of damage to any contents, machinery and plant or fixture and fittings in your client's business
  • Money and Assault - losing money, whether by accident or theft, we can help to protect against losses from their premises, at their home and whilst in transit
  • Glass - this includes any boarding-up costs, in the event that your client suffers an insured loss covered under the Property Damage section
  • Stock in Transit - cover for your client's stock whilst it's in transit, including when it's being loaded, unloaded or temporarily stored in a vehicle connected with their business
  • Seasonal Increase - we'll increase the sum insured on each item of Stock and Materials by 30% for the months of November, December and January or any other three-month period selected by your client
  • Business Interruption - to help your client get back on their feet and trading as usual if they're impacted or have to close their doors to the public due to an unforeseen insured event

What optional covers are available?

  • Property Damage - your client can add buildings, stock and tenants improvements to widen their property damage cover to their business
  • Terrorism - protection for property that's damaged or destroyed following a terrorist attack including subsequent business interruption
  • Personal Accident - cover for compensation to your client should they or any employee suffer accidental bodily injury which results in serious injury or death
  • Employee Dishonesty - protects your client's business against loss of money or other property caused directly by fraud or dishonesty committed by their employees
