Professional Indemnity

Introducing Professional Indemnity

All business professionals, whether they charge a fee or not for their service, face the risk of a claim being made against them. Professional Indemnity insurance could help protect your client's business from costly claims and compensation.

Why do clients need Professional Liability cover?

  • If your client offers advice or services, Professional indemnity insurance can help to protect their business against claims of:
    • Professional negligence
    • Errors or omissions
    • A breach of professional duties
    • A breach of civil liberties
  • Although Professional Indemnity cover isn’t a legal requirement, it's a mandatory part of some professional membership such as solicitors, financial advisers and chartered surveyors. If a business doesn’t have Professional Indemnity insurance, the industry regulatory body may close it down
  • Some service providers don’t have to have Professional Indemnity cover, but they may find that other companies wishing to use their services request it as a term of the contract

Why choose Aviva's Professional Indemnity cover?

A policy suitable for an accountant is unlikely to be right for an architect. That's why at Aviva, our insurance policies take into account the specific industry, identifying and protecting areas which might be vulnerable to claims.
