Double the Difference - FAQs

Have a question about our Double the Difference Fund?

Take a look at our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)s. For full eligibility details, please refer to our Terms and Conditions.

What is the Double the Difference programme?

The Double the Difference programme helps brokers raise money for charities they care about, with Aviva matching eligible donations to double the impact.

Which charities are eligible?

All UK charities registered by the Charity Commission or Scottish Charity Commission are eligible, with no limits on their income or size. Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs) are not eligible.

How much funding is available?

£200,000 of matched funding is available, with matching applied on a first-come, first-served basis, until the fund is fully allocated or your project reaches the £5,000 matched limit, whichever happens first.

Who owns the project?

Once your fundraising page is live, you’re free to manage, personalise and share it with your supporters and the charity. Please note that the charity will not manage or update your page.

How does Crowdfunder fit into the process?

All fundraising must take place via Crowdfunder, which enables transparent tracking of donations and ensures any eligible match funding can be applied correctly.

If my broker fundraising page is live, can individuals in my organisation set up and link fundraising pages?

Yes. Once your page is live, you’ll see a ‘start fundraising’ button, which colleagues can click to set up their individual fundraiser page. All funds raised through individual pages contribute to the overall project total and may be eligible for Aviva match funding, up to a maximum of £5,000 per project (fund terms and conditions apply).

When will Aviva match the funds?

Matched funding will be automatically applied to your project fundraising total for any eligible donations (whilst the fund is available).

When does the 2026 funding period finish?

Double the Difference launches on 1 June 2026 and will be open until the £200,000 funding has been fully allocated to good causes, or until 30th November 2026 - whichever comes first.

Is there other support available from Aviva?

Yes, through our Aviva Foundation, which includes The Communities Fund and the Financial Futures Fund, aligned to climate action and financial resilience. Volunteering support is also available from Aviva.

Who can apply?

The Double the Difference Fund is available to UK-based insurance brokers who trade in General Insurance with Aviva.

How do I get started?

Visit the Crowdfunder webpage and register your project – you’ll need to enter your brokerage organisation name and location, then select which charity you're supporting.

Is there a limit to how much funding Aviva will match?

Yes. We can match individual donations up to £250, up to a maximum of £5,000 per broker fundraising project.

Will the charity be made aware of my fundraising?

Once you register, Crowdfunder will notify your chosen charity of your intention to fundraise on their behalf. If the charity isn’t already set up on Crowdfunder, they’ll be contacted directly and supported through the process of getting set up to receive funds. If they're already registered, they'll be automatically linked.

I’ve submitted my fundraising application via Crowdfunder – how long will it take to go live?

Crowdfunder will review the broker application within 5 working days. Once approved, we’ll notify you to say that your page is live and you can start fundraising.

Can I enter multiple projects?

Each brokerage organisation can enter one project per location. If your brokerage spans multiple locations, we'll accept a maximum of five projects (providing these are from different brokerage locations).

Can I still fundraise after the fund is gone?

Yes, you can continue to add projects and do your own fundraising. Any fundraising after the fund is fully allocated will not be matched.

What happened to Aviva Broker Community Fund?

We’re proud to have given away over £2 million to broker-backed causes since the launch of our Aviva Broker Community Fund in 2010. Double the Difference continues to be exclusive to brokers to support you in fundraising for causes you care about in your local area.
