Dave Martin shares 2024 reflections and how we’re going even further in 2025
At the start of 2024, I stood on stage at our Aviva Live event with a clear message: Aviva had made great progress in 2023, but there was still a lot of work to do to deliver more for you and your clients. My commitment was that we’d focus on building partnerships that have the customer at the heart of everything we do, ensuring consistency of our delivery, providing more access and empowerment and innovating to deliver more.
As I reflect on 2024, I believe we’ve made significant progress against these commitments, and we’ve never been better positioned to help you go further. In the spirit of ‘end of year wraps’, here are my personal highlights:
- Expanded regional footprint - Where you are, we are. We’ve opened new regional branches in Southampton, Chelmsford, Glasgow and Newcastle, alongside expanded capacity across other key locations, to be more visible and provide you with more access.
- Enhancing our responsiveness - We continue to innovate across Digital SME and Mid-Market to be able to provide you with a better and more responsive service. We launched our New Business Tracker to give you clarity on quote status and the aligned underwriter supporting you, and the Acturis Claims API to save you time by streamlining the claims process.
- Lloyd’s entry - The acquisition of Probitas 1492 is a significant step change for our global offering. Entering the Lloyd’s market provides significant opportunity and gives you more opportunities to trade with us.
- Being there when it mattered - We’re here for you and your clients when you need us most and our response through the recent storms is a testament to this.
- Additional broker support - We’ve brought all of our distribution activities together led by Michelle Taylor and increased our broker support propositions with an improved Apprenticeship programme, expanded Learning & Development offering including our Rising Stars programme and the relaunch of the Aviva Broker Community Fund.
- Commitment to Personal Lines - We've maintained our appetite, commitment and capacity in the intermediated market, strengthening our position with an evolved high-net-worth proposition still to come.
And of course, we finished the year having been voted by you as the ‘General Insurer of the Year’ at the Insurance Times Awards, on top of winning the same award at the British Insurance Awards in July. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who voted for Aviva this year. We’re proud to be your trusted partner, but the work doesn’t stop here.
In 2025 we’ll continue to provide you with even more support, autonomy, data, innovation and trading enhancements, making it even easier to do business with Aviva. Our ambition is to keep being your trusted partner of choice and to help you and your clients go even further.
Enjoy the festivities if you’re taking time off over Christmas. We’ll be here to support you, so please refer to our festive opening hours for all your trading and claims needs.
Thank you,
Dave Martin
