Digital Trading Summary September 2020

As we approach the final quarter of a year like no other, the impact of recent events may well impact our industry for years to come - the way insurers work with brokers, the way brokers work with clients. That’s why it’s so important to us that we continue to review and refresh our commercial offering to provide a proposition that works for you and your clients.

In the current environment, the ability to trade simply and efficiently online is more in focus than ever before. We’ve made a number of developments to our digital offering already this year with more planned in the coming months as we continue to support you and your clients to get #backtobusiness.

FastTrade

On Fast Trade, we’ve focussed on further improving usability to make it as simple as possible for you to trade with us. We’ve introduced quote versioning to enable you to save multiple versions of quotes, as client requirements and requests may vary, and introduced co-browsing functionality so our own people can see the same screens as you see in real-time, to help resolve any issues or queries quickly and efficiently.

MiniFleet

We’ve also made enhancements to our Minifleet proposition. With changes to driving options, improvements to quote journey and increased mid-term adjustment functionality, we’ve provided you and your clients with more flexibility and control. We introduced these changes to increase the number of potential solutions you have to offer clients during this period of uncertainty, where affordability maybe higher up their agendas.

Acturis

We’ve also worked hard to improve our eTrade capability on Acturis, acknowledging that trading online with Aviva should be as supported and uncomplicated as possible. We’ve introduced a dedicated etrade underwriting team along with the ability to submit electronic referrals as part of the quote journey. We’ve also added the much-utilised functionality of premium flexibility of up to 10% for renewals, giving Acturis users access to a level of control that could be vital in securing renewals, especially in the current climate.

But we’re not done there.

In the coming months we’ll be making enhancements to our Office & Surgery product, which will increase the amount of business you can place digitally through increasing sums insured limits and widening out trade acceptability. And we’ve got plans to expand our Minifleet proposition providing you with a new, digital route for single business vehicles.

Our commitment to supporting you in trading efficiently and effectively online is clear and further demonstrated by the recent shortlisting of Maria Crockart, Director of Commercial Digital Trading and Automation, in the Tech Champion category, at the Insurance Times 2020 Tech & Innovation Awards.

Maria commented “The coronavirus pandemic has changed the way we live; from how we purchase goods and services, keep in touch with loved ones, to the way we work. One thing is common – people are embracing technology more than ever to help support all aspects of everyday life. And that’s no different for us at Aviva or you as our broker partners.”

“You will be well aware of how digital solutions are helping to minimise disruption to your business, from communicating with clients to being able to self-serve policies. I’ve been impressed by the speed in which our broker partners have reacted to the changing needs of their business and their clients, and the support we at Aviva have been able to provide to ensure we continue to deliver the service excellence that you have come to expect from us.

We place great importance on talking to brokers about how to improve our platforms as shown by the ratings we have achieved, and we will continue to do so as we emerge from the pandemic.”
