Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
At Aviva, we believe that diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) are more than workplace values, they are the foundation for stronger relationships, innovative solutions, and long-term success.
In today’s world, clients and partners expect more than products and services. They want to work with organisations that reflect the communities they serve and foster environments where every individual feels respected, valued, and empowered to contribute. That’s why we’ve made DE&I a priority, not just internally, but in the way we do business.
Why does DE&I matter?
- Better ideas, better outcomes: When people with different experiences and perspectives come together, they challenge assumptions and spark innovation.
- Representation matters: Clients and brokers alike benefit from teams that reflect a wide range of backgrounds and viewpoints.
- Belonging drives performance: Inclusive workplaces aren’t just fairer, they’re more productive, engaged, and resilient.
What inclusion looks like at Aviva
DE&I isn’t just a statement on a page for us, it’s something you can see and feel every day.
- Accessibility: From inclusive facilities to flexible working, we’re committed to helping everyone thrive. We support neurodivergent colleagues with guides for managers and teams, Workplace Adjustment Passports, and non-sensory spaces to reduce overstimulation.
- Representation: Our employee networks and cultural celebrations amplify the voices and stories of our diverse workforce. Storytelling plays a key role - like our COO’s webinar sharing his experience parenting neurodivergent children, helping normalise conversations around neurodiversity.
- Leadership commitment: Senior leaders drive accountability and embed inclusion into how we work and partner. We actively share our approach with our suppliers, extending our inclusive ethos beyond Aviva.
Working together on inclusion
We know our clients and broker partners share our commitment to building workplaces and industries where everyone belongs. By embedding DE&I into how we collaborate, we can strengthen our partnerships and deliver even greater value to the people we serve.
That’s why we’re excited to continue the conversation in our D&I webinar that was held on 11th September. You can watch this on demand here to explore practical steps, insights, and highlight the positive impact that inclusive practices can have across our industry.
