Empowering your digital trading journey

We’re determined to keep enhancing our Commercial Combined proposition in response to your feedback, making it easier for you to trade with us online. Our goal is to instil confidence in our ability to handle larger, more complex risks digitally with you. To support this, we've implemented several new enhancements to our Digital Commercial Combined (CCI) Proposition.

Unlocking expertise: dedicated underwriting support

You told us you needed more trading flexibility coupled with increased underwriting expertise, which is why we’ve just launched our dedicated Commercial Combined underwriting team in Perth. This team, consisting of some of our most experienced underwriters, is now your go-to resource for helping to place CCI risks.

They’re ready to trade with you today and are eager to assist with your queries – helping to simplify the entire process and provide you with the confidence that your client’s needs are being properly protected.

We understand trade selection can often be a barrier to placing CCI business online. In response to this, we’re welcoming pre-quote trade discussions to help select the right trade description up front, making sure your client receives the appropriate protection at the most accurate price.

Our team has been established to provide on-demand advice and support, helping you to quote and secure more business in this space so please don’t hesitate to get in contact with them.

Commercial Combined, traded your way

In addition to forming our new Commercial Combined team, we've recently enhanced our product criteria for CCI to support you in placing more business online. These enhancements include:

  • Flexible 'all risks' - This new optional cover allows you to specify the value and types of items your clients want to cover. This change enables you to amend the Sum Insured for specified items away from their business.
  • Expanded coverage - Businesses with up to 10 premises and a maximum turnover of £10 million across manufacturing, wholesale, sports, arts, community and leisure sectors are now covered.
  • Increased trade selection - Greater flexibility in describing clients' business activities with an expanded number of trades for an individual risk. This includes cross-segment capability, making sure insurance protection evolves as clients' businesses diversify.
  • Smoother online/offline transition - Harmonised digital product cover levels with our mid-market offering, easing the transition between online and offline products.
  • Stretched underwriting appetite: Increased turnover limits for exports to the USA and Canada from 35% to 50%. More than 50% of trades with Asian imports now quote without referral, enabling placement of more complex risks online.

Introducing our new dynamic modular solution

Our aim this year is to shift from a traditional package-based offering to a more dynamic "modular" solution. By providing a tailored approach that aligns with your clients' needs, this new strategy will help you to place more business online.

In the first phase of this transformation, you’ll notice a change to our quote journey if you’re using Fast Trade. Our first change means that you'll now see a new ‘Covers’ tab. This feature provides an ‘at-a-glance’ view of the range of covers available, making it easier to identify the elements your clients need.

While the product remains a packaged offering for now, with some pre-selected default covers, further planned changes later this year will aim to start to give you the flexibility to select and de-select covers. We’ll be in touch when these enhancements are ready for roll-out.

These are just a handful of the developments and enhancements we’re delivering to help you confidently place larger, more complex risks – however you choose to trade with us.

Your feedback is important as it helps shape our current and future digital propositions. If you’d like to get in touch use the ‘Feedback’ button in the ‘Options’ menu on Fast Trade.
