Enhanced Digital GP Service from Aviva DigiCare+

We will now be offering access to three private digital GP appointments at no extra cost for the life assured and their eligible family members through the Aviva DigiCare+ health and wellbeing app.

We understand the challenges many of us face when trying to book a GP appointment. In fact, a survey by IPSOS for NHS England in 2023 shows a 151% increase from 2021 in patients who have avoided booking a GP appointment because they found it too difficult. ** 

With the easy-to-use Aviva DigiCare+ app, customers can book a private digital GP appointment seven days a week, 8am to 8pm, and can often access a mental health specialist, nutritionist or physiotherapist (income protection+ customers only) without the need for a GP referral. 

What does Aviva DigiCare+ digital GP offer? 

• New – Three private digital GP appointments a year at no extra cost: Customers will get three appointments a year at no extra cost, each lasting up to 20-minutes with appointment notes held in the app. These can offer clinical advice and guidance in non-emergency situations. 

• New – Preferred GP: Customers can choose the same GP they’ve had before or the next available. In-app biographies help customers choose the right GP for them.

99% of appointments within 24 hours: Customers can talk to a doctor quickly. 

• Extra services: GP consultations can provide fit notes, prescriptions and repeat prescriptions with free delivery, or a referral to a specialist for treatment.

Customers who have paid for private digital GP appointments on the old scheme will get an additional three at no extra cost. They can see these in their DigiCare+ allocation tracker.
