Group Protection wellbeing services update

In January, we're making changes to some of the wellbeing services accessible through our Aviva Group Protection policies.

The changes are part of our wider ambition and future plans to streamline and connect our wellbeing services. They ensure we remain competitive and better align with employee demand, allowing us to offer access to valuable services for as many employees as possible, while protecting client value.

We've answered your potential questions here: in this Adviser Q&A's.

This client facing notice summarises the upcoming changes. Please download the notice and share it with your clients where needed.

  • NEW EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMME (EAP), EXTENDED TO ALL EMPLOYEES, ACROSS ALL POLICIES: Change effective 1 January 2026:

We're partnering with HealthHero to strengthen our mental health support by offering all employees support for life's challenges. The new EAP is accessible through Group Life, Group Income Protection and Group Critical Illness - opening the service to around 2.8million employees. It will offer:

  • a 24/7 emotional and practical support helpline, available 365 days a year (accessed via the same telephone number)
  • one structured counselling session a year, if clinically required
  • webinars, support articles, videos and wellbeing assessments

If further counselling is needed, insured employees registered with Aviva DigiCare+ Workplace, can access mental health consultations through the app.

  • SIMPLIFIED MENTAL HEALTH AND BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT: Change effective 1 January 2026

As stress and bereavement support is available to insured employees through the Aviva DigiCare+ Workplace app, we'll no longer offer seperate access to the Stress and Bereavement Helplines, provided by Care first. This update removes duplicated support, making it easier for employees and is another move towards a more connected, inclusive wellbeing experience.

  • AVIVA DIGICARE+ WORKPLACE HEALTH CHECK UPDATE: Change effective 29 January 2026

Aviva remains the only provider in the Group Protection market to offer access to a no cost, finger-prick health check as standard. To align with employee demand and to help keep the benefit sustainable for your clients, the Health Check will move from an annual service, to once every two years. The Health Check offers your clients and their insured employees unique value, with an in-depth analysis on 20 different health markers, helping them stay on top of their health. The app and service are provided by Square Health.

These services will be accessible through all products from 1 January 2026:
