What is your role?

My job is to support advisers and their clients achieve what they want and need in retirement through Equity Release or Annuities.

How long have you worked for Aviva/been in the industry?

I have been at Aviva for just over 1.5 years but in the financial industry for 3 years, previously working for an International Wealth Management Firm.

Describe a typical day/week in your role?

A cliché, everyday is different. I am the voice between our clients and the business. I support FA’s when they have those tough cases. Be it a farm with 170+ alpacas wanting equity release. Or a client is in dire need to set up Immediate needs annuity to pay for their £10,000 a month care fees.

On top of this, I help to educate on our products and where they best fit in this market.

But the best part of my week involves building those lasting relationships with the advisers that we work with in this market.

What is the thing you’re most proud of that has benefited advisers?

It’s hard to pinpoint a single moment, but cases that involve end of term mortgages and repossessions. Supporting FA’s and clients through an incredibly stressful time to be able to tell them at the end of it all “Awaiting funds released” Nothing beats it. The entire role is filled with moments like this. Even helping a couple afford a new mobile home is something that I am overjoyed to say “I helped”.
