When Aviva invited us to sign up for the Aviva DigiCare+ Workplace app and wellbeing services, we saw it as a great way to complement our existing range of colleague benefits and encourage colleagues to take a proactive approach to their health. Plus, being able to share many of the services with eligible family members aligns well to our values and family friendly culture.
The app offers easy access to Health Checks, doctor consultations, mental health, and nutritional support. The number of colleagues who have signed up for the app has continued to rise, especially for access to the digital GP service for quick support and advice. Outside of working hours, great if you have a sick child.
The Fingerprick Health Checks are quick and easy to do, providing early indications of potential health risks and helping to address issues before they escalate. At Travis Perkins PLC, we integrated Aviva DigiCare+ Workplace into our colleague benefits portal. Newsletters, blogs and webinars. We also signpost colleagues to the Aviva Online employee hub and display some of the Aviva's promotional materials across our store, branch and distribution center network to target our offline colleague population. The hub has been especially useful for us.
Our colleagues can access information online when and where it suits them. It helps to guide them through all the services, and the explanatory videos work well, helping them to understand what's available. We took a different approach for our drivers. Whilst they are part of the offline population, we use their hand-held route planning devices to share details about Aviva DigiCare+ Workplace.
For us, it's not a once and done approach. We have new colleagues starting all the time, and it's easy for existing colleagues to forget what they have access to. We remind everyone about their benefits on a regular basis. Our HR business partners, Mental Health First aiders provide valuable support by acting as ambassadors for the app.
We know from colleague feedback that services have had a positive impact on their wellbeing, and it's now a core part of our benefits offering, and colleagues make good use of the Aviva DigiCare+ Workplace app.
Wellbeing services are available to eligible employees through all Aviva Group Protection policies. They are a non-contractual benefit Aviva can change or withdraw at any time.
The Aviva DigiCare+ Workplace app and services are provided by Square Health. Terms and residency restrictions apply.

The finger-prick Health Check is a simple way for employees to help look after their wellbeing. It can be done at home, takes just a few minutes and checks 20 health markers from, cholesterol and liver health to diabetes and gout risk. Every test comes with a personalised report, and many employees choose to speak to a clinician to understand their results and take the next step. It’s a small action that can help make a big difference.
Why clients are seeing value in Aviva DigiCare+ Workplace
"Since we launched the Aviva DigiCare+ Workplace app and services in 2020, we’ve seen clients large and small take the opportunity to register their staff, so they get access to the benefits. The services come at no extra cost, so for clients without anything like it already in place, this can add significant value for their people. Our clients and their employees can benefit from the policy from day one. Working closely with Helen and the team at Travis Perkins plc, we successfully rolled out the Aviva DigiCare+ Workplace app to their people.
We’ve had some excellent feedback from Helen and her team on the extra value it’s brought to their people.
As their Client Relationship Manager, I meet regularly with Helen to talk through usage. We have a wealth of useful MI, which further demonstrates the appetite for the services and the value they are bringing to the business.
I’d encourage any clients with Aviva Group Protection to set up Aviva DigiCare+ Workplace for their insured employees. Travis Perkins plc is just one of many active clients who are reaping the rewards of having these added value services."
